Arizona State Fair runs for nearly the entire month of October. The Phoenix Zoo is literally transformed with millions of lights, local choirs providing music. This year there is a new display, the Wildlife Lantern Safari with over 60 zoo animals aglow.
Tempe Town Lake Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade features a variety of boats that are decked out magnificent lights. There are also food venders, a holiday market and even Santa Claus who will be onsite to collect holiday lists from the little ones.
Each January, the Waste Management Open, brings some of todays top golfers to town. The evet kicks off with a game featuring top golfers and entertainers and follows up with top golfers vying for the win. The Arabian Horse Show hits town every February. People come from all over to see these amazing creatures at Westworld in Scottsdale. What started as an event with 50 horses now features over 2,000 horses with owners, breeders and trainers all vying to win the event. 2020 marks the 32nd annual Renaissance Festival. The event features a 30-acre circus, jousting tournaments, an amusement park, craft fair and over 2,000 festival characters roaming the grounds. The festival in 2020 opens on February 8 through March 29th on select dates.
Cactus League baseball is one of the top events in the Valley of the Sun every February. As the official opening of Spring, many major league baseball teams hit town to play against each other prior to the start of the official season.
